Tales [Mar. 16th, 2008|10:15 pm]
Jeremy
This is a watercolor piece I did for my thesis class.  I'm illustrating short stories and folk lore from around the world.  This one is an Icelandic tale about changelings.  Click on the picture for a larger version.

This one is a work in progress.  It's a Russian tale called The Water Snake.  Click on the picture for a larger version.

I will try and get better shots of the work soon.

Geezus, man. If you get any better, they're literally going to come and arrest you for being so unfair to other artists.

Oh, wow. Amazing. I love how the pink really stands out, in the first piece.

I just went to your site. You're 22? That's ridiculous. Keep it up.

the first one is 16 x 20". I can't remember the exact size of the second one cuz it's on my desk at school, but it's a bit smaller than the first one.

the water snake story is about a girl who gets tricked into marrying a snake. the snake kidnaps her from her home with hundreds of other snakes to help him. They drag her to their lake and take her down with them. When they enter the water, the snakes turn into men and women. they have two kids and are in love. years later, the snake allows his wife to go up and visit his mother, so she stays and the mom figures out how to get the husband's attention while her daughter is sleeping. the mother goes to the lake and chops off the snake's head.

pretty interesting story. mostly i chose it for the cool imagery i found in it.
